On August 16th, I had the joy of photographing Rumee and Alex’s colorful Nepali wedding at Heritage Hills Resort in York, Pennsylvania. Their day was filled with vibrant color, heartfelt traditions, and an incredible amount of energy!

One of the most striking parts of a traditional Nepali wedding is the bride’s attire. Unlike the white gowns we often see in Western weddings, Nepali brides traditionally wear red. This vibrant color carries deep cultural and spiritual meaning.

Their first look was such a sweet moment! The second Alex saw Rumee, he couldn’t stop smiling — and honestly, neither could she!

Rumee and Alex have already built such a strong, beautiful life together. After ten years of love and laughter, their wedding day was a true celebration of everything they’ve shared and the joy of having all their favorite people together.

The groom’s janti was pure joy — music, dancing, and laughter all the way to his bride!

One of the most entertaining traditions of a Nepali wedding is when the bride’s side of the family tries to steal the groom’s shoes — and Rumee’s family was all in!

Exchanging garlands, rings, and blessings — a beautiful start to their ceremony.

Rumee and Alex sat together for a series of traditional rituals. Each step was filled with meaning — blessings, offerings, and symbolic gestures that honored their heritage and the joining of their families. Even without knowing every detail, it was clear how sacred and special these moments were.

After the ceremony came one of the most playful traditions — negotiating with the bride’s family for the return of the groom’s shoes! Let’s just say, they drove a hard bargain!

Even though I didn’t get a chance to photograph every detail, the décor was absolutely stunning — full of vibrant color, thoughtful touches, and so much personality. And, I love the Harry Potter cake!

Their first dance was a cute, choreographed moment full of laughs, smiles, and twirls!

After their first dance, it was time for the father-daughter and mother-son dances — heartfelt moments full of love, laughter, and a few happy tears. These touching dances were followed by speeches from their families, each one filled with stories, well-wishes, and plenty of humor. The room was full of emotion, and you could really feel the depth of connection and support surrounding Rumee and Alex.

After an amazing dinner, catered by the Heritage Hills Resort, it was time for the cake cutting — and, of course, a little playful fun with icing on the cheek!

Then it was time to party! Thanks to the coordination by Planned Perfection, the dance floor stayed packed all night with nonstop dancing and plenty of laughs. DJ RAAG kept the music flowing, mixing traditional Nepali tunes with contemporary hits so everyone — from kids to grandparents — could join in. The energy never let up, and the celebration went strong until the very end.

Congratulations to Rumee and Alex on a wedding day that was every bit as vibrant and joyful as their love story. After ten years together, this was the perfect celebration of all they’ve built and the exciting new chapter ahead. I’m so honored to have been there to capture every colorful, love-filled moment, thank you for choosing me to photograph your day!
